Ryan Wood, DPM, AACFAS
Podiatrist
Ryan W. Wood, DPM is a fellowship-trained surgical podiatrist at the Institute of Clinical Orthopedics and Neurosciences. Dr. Wood joined the ICON team in December 2014. He also is an affiliated physician with Desert Regional Medical Center’s Advanced Wound Healing and Amputation Prevention Centers in Palm Springs and La Quinta. Dr. Wood has expertise in foot and ankle reconstruction, trauma, diabetic limb salvage, sports medicine and pediatric deformity correction as well as general podiatric concerns such as bunion correction, treatment of calluses, pinched nerves, toenail fungus, ingrown toenails, heel pain and more.
Dr. Wood earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree at Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona where he continues to serve as an adjunct professor. He served his surgical residency at the North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley, Colorado and was named chief resident during his three-year residency. Dr. Wood also conducted a fellowship in foot and ankle reconstruction at the Palo Alto Medical Foundation in Mountain View, California which is a surgical fellowship recognized by the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.
Dr. Wood is an associate member of the American College of Foot & Ankle Surgeons and a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association. He is well published in his specialty.
In addition to treating numerous sports medicine injuries in his practice, Dr. Wood volunteers his time to serve as the team physician for Desert Mirage High School. Dr. Wood also has volunteered his time to serve on several medical missions, including the Yucatan Crippled Children’s Project in Merida, Mexico and DOCARE International in Antigua, Guatemala. He is bilingual and speaks English and Spanish fluently.
