Jeffrey Seip, MD
Director of Hand Surgery
Jeffrey Seip, MD, FRCS (C), FACS, is the Director of Hand Surgery at the Institute of Clinical Orthopedics and Neurosciences at Desert Regional Medical Center. Dr. Seip joined ICON in 2015 to establish the hand surgery program, which includes a team of hand surgeons who provide emergency coverage of hand trauma, as well as specialty elective procedures of the hand and wrist and conservative management of hand conditions.
Dr. Seip has more than 20 years of experience in hand and microsurgery. He was recruited by the High Desert Medical Center in Joshua Tree in 2004, where he currently serves as Chief of Staff and Director of Orthopedics. Dr. Seip has been on staff at Desert Regional Medical Center since 2008. In addition to directing the hand surgery program at ICON and providing on-call service, Dr. Seip maintains a private practice with locations in Palm Desert and Yucca Valley. He sees both pediatric and adult patients.
A native of Ontario, Canada, Dr. Seip earned his Medical Degree at the University of Ottawa in Ontario where he also served his orthopedic residency. Following residency, Dr. Seip conducted a fellowship in hand and microsurgery at the University of Utah and Affiliated Hospitals in Salt Lake City.
Dr. Seip is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons as well as a member of several professional medical associations. He has received numerous research and academic honors and scholarships including being named Resident Teacher of the Year in the Department of Orthopaedics at the University of Ottawa.
